DNA of Relationships

You have a bond with your parents, kids, siblings, spouse, neighbors, sub-ordinates, classmates, friends… list goes on. Let us examine those. Does it fall in any of these? Which zone most of your relationships fall under?

I want your friendship or I am your friend,
because,

Zone 1: Selfless zone
·       You need friendship. One of the perfect form of relationship. Jesus Christ might have applied this rule while he picked his friends from the neglected.
·       I love you. Parents to kids, Husband and Wife in a Love marriage are best examples.
·       I want you to be a successful person. Lord Krishna's relationship with Arjuna during Mahabharatha war explains it very well.
·       I want the truth to win.
·       I can serve you better. Politicians are supposed to have this kind of attitude towards the people at their disposal.
·       I like your character which makes you my role model. Followers of great leaders like Dalai Lama, Pope Francis, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, etc.
·       You or your ancestors helped me when I was in need.
Zone 2: Ambitious zone
·       I want to learn from you. Student-teacher relation fits in here.
·       I can learn from your expertise.
·       You have already achieved something which I pursue.
·       You have a gifted talent which I admire. Followers and singing icons.
·       We stand for the same cause.

Zone 3: Comfortable zone
·       My parents told me to befriend you. A typical Indian (arranged) marriage is the best example.
·       I feel happy in your company.
·       We think alike, behave alike, play alike, enjoy alike.
·       You worship the same God I do.
·       You do the same job I do.
·       You talk the same language I do.
·       You have the same ancestry I have.
·       You have the same social status I have.
·       You own same objects/commodities I do.
·       You keep growing as I do.

Zone 4: Self Centered zone
·       I want to Love you. Kids will cry when they are taken from their mother because they are taken to love, which kids may not want or like.
·       I want to be loved.
·       My kids and family will benefit.
·       I need your expertise to fulfill my dream.
·       You are a winner, and you are winning. As long as you maintain your winning position, I will remain as your friend. Relationship of developing countries with America could be one example.
·       Of your stardom and personality (what one put up to the public). As long as you are in the limelight, I will be your friend.
·       I want to fly on your wings.  A relationship between start-up companies and venture capitalists is an example.
·       If you are my friend, I will be well acknowledged where I am.
·       I may enjoy the bit of luxury you have.
·       I want to invest in you for my future so that I will be benefited one day when you flutter your wings. Relationship between political refugees and hosting countries fall into this category. This is the goal of every customer loyalty program.
·       I need protection - Infant's relation with their parents or guardian is an example. Relationship of Middle Eastern countries with USA is another example.
·       I do not want you to attack me, or others attack me.
·       I need you, to succeed in my mission. Manager to subordinate, President to cabinet falls into this category.
·       I need you to sustain. Employee to Employer is the example.
·       I feel superior in your presence.
·       I want sex.
